Etna 2002 craters trekking highlights
The meeting point is at Piano Provenzana, the main tourist area on the north side of Etna, where you will meet your guide.
This hiking excursion will take you to the 1923 and 2002 craters of Mount Etna, two of the most impressive and recent volcanic features on the north side of the mountain.
You will walk along the lava flows that spilled from these craters, passing through the beautiful beech woods lava fields of Etna, where you can admire the fascinating shapes and colors of the volcanic rock.
Along the way, your volcanological guide will explain the origin and evolution of these craters, the dynamics and effects of the eruptions, and the flora and fauna that inhabit this unique environment.
You will also have the opportunity to ask questions and satisfy your curiosity about the volcano and its phenomena.
The hiking excursion lasts about 3 hours and covers a distance of about 5 km.
The difficulty level is easy-medium, suitable for anyone with a minimum of physical fitness and hiking experience.
